Alex McCrary

Alex McCrary is the Director of Federal Governmental and Corporate Affairs at Alabama Power Company. In his current role, Alex manages relationships with elected officials and external stakeholders throughout the state to assist the company in meeting its strategic goals. Prior to this position, Alex served in various roles with Alabama Power Company as well as Southern Power Company. He also has several years of experience in the financial services field.


Alex currently serves on the Sloss Furnaces Historic Landmark Board, United Way Hands On Cabinet and Junior Board of Horizons School. He is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham. Born and raised in Birmingham, Alex is passionate about making the city and state a better place to live, work and play.


Alex holds a BSBA in finance from Auburn University and MBA from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Sara Kathryn, and two daughters, Margot and Ann Brantley.
