The Alabama State Parks Foundation is the first statewide non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Alabama State Parks system which will provide funding for innovative programs such as zip lining, cable skiing and many other modern-day activities for park guests.
Funds raised by the Alabama State Parks Foundation assist with construction of additional traditional amenities such as RV campsites, cabins, new trails and much more.
Alabama State Parks serve as a playground for some, a schoolroom for others and a sanctuary for all. With 21 parks covering about 48,000 acres of land and water in Alabama, there’s a state park within an easy drive for virtually every Alabamian.
Millions of visitors choose from an array of outdoor activities at all 21 state parks – camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and boating, or simply walking along the sugar-white sand beach on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Alabama State Parks truly offer something for everyone to enjoy.
The Alabama State Parks Foundation strives to make the parks system better than ever, whether through funding deferred maintenance projects, helping clean-up after natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornadoes or building new amenities. The Parks remain one of state’s greatest treasures, and we’re committed to protecting them and helping them thrive.
Whether you can contribute $1, $5 or $5,000, every dollar given to the Alabama State Parks Foundation directly benefits the parks system, which generates 80 to 90 percent of its annual funding coming from customer fees, not taxes.
Giving supports our mission.
“Parks for People, People for Parks.”
