Greg Lein has been Director of the Alabama State Parks Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources since 2012. The Huntsville native attended Auburn University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Science in 1991 and a master’s degree in Fisheries Science in 1995
During his career, Greg has worked as a field biologist in the Southwest and Southeastern United States, working with rare and endangered mammals, amphibians and fish. Greg has worked within the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources since 1996, where he helped with the Forever Wild Land Trust to buy new conservation lands for public recreation and unique wildlife habitats and served in an administrative role in the State Lands Division.
Greg and his family have been residents of Montgomery since 1997.
Lein serves as Treasurer of the Alabama State Parks Foundation.
