The Alabama State Parks Foundation is the first statewide non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Alabama State Parks system which will provide funding for innovative programs such as zip lining, cable skiing and many other modern-day activities for park guests.

Why Individual Gifts are so important

America is the most generous nation on earth. One reason for America’s greatness is the philanthropic spirit that seems to be in the DNA of our citizenry. Their generous spirit provides the financial support to a broad array of services to the public such as hospitals, churches, schools, and parks, among many others.

It may surprise you to know that individuals give the lion’s share of all the dollars donated in America each year. This is perhaps not altogether surprising. People charitably support the things they cherish.

For many of us, the Alabama State Parks hold a special place in our hearts. For generations, they have hosted our family gatherings. We have walked their trails, fished their lakes, enjoyed their natural splendors, and had something like a spiritual kinship to them.
