Tim Haney is North Region Operations and Maintenance Supervisor for the Alabama State Parks Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He began his career at DeSoto State Park in 1977 while still in high school. Tim attended Northeast State Junior College and Auburn University.
He served as Park Ranger at Joe Wheeler State Park beginning in 1981. Tim has served as the Assistant Superintendent at both DeSoto State Park and Joe Wheeler State Park. He served as Superintendent at Oak Mountain State Park and then was the Northwest Alabama District Superintendent from 2000 until 2016.
Tim is active in tourism and has served on the executive board of Mountain Lakes Tourist Association for several years, as well as local tourism boards. He is married to Teresa and they have one son, Hunter, who is a GIS/CAD Designer in Decatur.
